Strength Courage Happiness
In times of distress or uncertainty, we all need to take some time to breathe and to try to make sense of what is happening to us. It is not always easy on your own.
Sharing your thoughts and feelings with someone who is listening to you, non-judgmental and without pressure can be the space you need to move forward.
I am a qualified Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor that works both online and face-to-face (when we are permitted). As a person-centred therapist, you will be my focus, and you will set the pace for our sessions. I am also able to work with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA) if appropriate.
I offer a gentle, warm approach to all and would welcome the opportunity to introduce myself and make you feel at ease. I have experience working with children/young people, adults, those with ASD and currently volunteer at a prison for male adults. I currently do not offer couples counselling.
Services
Person Centred Therapy
- Also known as person-centred or client-centred counselling, is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which individuals perceive themselves consciously, rather than how a counsellor can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviours, improving emotional regulation and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.
Transactional Analysis
- A talking therapy where sessions are designed to explore an individual’s personality and how this has been shaped by experience – particularly those stemming from childhood. This is achieved through skilful questioning and the use of various models, techniques and tools.
Connection
“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”
― Brené Brown
